ANNEXING ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF WYLIE, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID
CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO
SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF
SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF
OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHABI-
TANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID
CITY.
WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed
and acknowledged by each and every person or corporation hav-
ing an interest in the following described territory, to-
wit:
All that certain lot, tract or parcel of
land situated about 1/2 mile a little southwest
of Wylie, in Collin County, Texas, and being a
part of a survey patented to Daniel Herring,
Assignee of Elliott C. Davidson, March 26th,
1853 by Patent Number 209, Vol. 7, and being
out of the extreme Northeast corner of a 20 acre
tract of land deeded to R. V. Groves by Mrs. Pyche
Brooks by Warranty Deed dated January 16th, 1941,
and recorded in Volume 331, on Page 42 Deed Records
Collin County, Texas, to which reference is herenow
made and more fully described by metes and bounds
as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of said
20 acre tract of land in the West side of Public
Highway and also beingthe Southeast corner of
a tract belonging to Clayton A. stone, a stake;
Thence South 120 feet with the West side
of Highway and with fence, a stake;
Thence West 193 feet to a stake;
Thence North 120 feet to the North side of
said 20 acre tract and the South side of said
tract of land in said survey belonging to Clayton
A. Stone, a stake;
Thence East 193 feet with the North side
of said 20 acre tract and the south side of said
tract of land in said survey belonging to Clayton
A. Stone, a stake and the place of beginning;
and containing One-half <i) acre of land, more
or less.
Being the same land conveyed by R. V. Groves
and wife, to Will D. Greer and wife, Corene Greer,
by Warranty Deed dated the 31st day of January
A. D. 1946, duly recorded in Volume 362, on Page
114, of the Deed Records of Collin County, Texaa,
to which reference is herenow made for further
description of the same.
And being the same land Sld premises that were
conveyed by Will D. Greer and wife, Corenne Greer
to Kearney L. Starr by Warranty Deed dated the
9th. day of May A. D. 1949, and duly recorded
in Volume 402, on Page 404, of the Deed Records
of Collin County, Texas, to which reference is
herenow made for further description of the same.
WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent
to the City of Wylie, Texas, and is not more than one-half
(1/2) mile in width, and
WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council
on the
day of
, 1958, such date
being not less than 5 and not more than 30 days from the
date hereof, and
WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments
for and against the same the City Council has voted to grant
such petition and to annex said territory to the City of
Wylie, Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council
of the City of Wylie, Texas:
That the following described property, to-wit:

in Volume 402, on Page 404, of the Deed Records
of Collin County, Texas, to which reference is
herenow made for further description of the same.
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Wylie,
Collin County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the
City of Wylie, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended
to include the above described territory within the City
limits of the City of Wylie, Texas, and the same shall here-
after be included within the territorial limits of said city,
and said land and the future inhabitants thereof shall here-
after be entitled to all rights and privilegesof other citi-
zens of the City of Wylie, Texas, and shall be bound by the
acts and ordinance of saidcity.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the
County Clerk of Collin County, Texas, a certified copy of
this ordinance.
