1962 Ordinance-Secretary Should also set as City TreasurerORDINANCE NO. 63-5
The ORDINANCE is as follows:
"AN ORDINANCE providing that the Secretary of
the City shall also act as City Treasurer,
repealing all ordinances or resolutions
in conflict and declaring an emergency."
WHEREAS, the City Council has found and determined
that it is necessary that the offices of City Secretary and
City Treasurer be combined into one office, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WYLIE, TEXAS :
SECTION 1:
That pursuant to Article 977 Revised
Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended, all of the powers
and duties of the office of City Treasurer shall be exercised
by the City Secretary of the City of Wylie, Texas.
SECTION 2:
All ordinances or resolutions in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed, revoked and rescinded.
SECTION 3: The public importance of the measure
and the fact that it is to the best interest of the City
provide that the Secretary of the City shall also act as
City Treasurer, at the earliest possible date, constitute and
create an emergency and an urgent public necessity for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health
and safety and requiring that any rule providing for ordinances
to be read at more than one meeting of the City Council be sus-
pended and requiring that this ordinance be passed and take effect
as an emergency measure and such rule and provision is according-
ly suspended, and this ordinance is passed as an emergency measure,
and shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage.
