Ordinance 1973-06 ORDINANCE # 73-6 WHEREAS, the General Telephone Company of the Southwest has presented information stating that present local exchange revenues at Wylie are not adequate1 and WHEREAS, application has been made for relief from this condition by an adjustment of its rates for local service 1 and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the right of the General Telephone Company of the Southwest to earn a fair return on the fair value of its property devoted to the rendition of local exchange telephone service to the customers of the Wylie exchange. The City of Wylie expressly reserves the right to have rates based on financial data separated between the Wylie exchange and any and all other areas when a method of separation is developed. Section 3: The ordinance adopted SEPt. /8" ,19 73, and any other ordinances or parts of ordinances'in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4: That nothing in this ordinance contained shall be construed in any manner, now or hereafter, limiting or modifying the right and power of the City Council under the law to regulate the rates charged by the General Telephone Company of the Southwest for its service within the City of Wylie, Texas. Further, it is the intention of this ordinance that any adopted and accepted second tier rate structure for other cities within the Dallas Metro calling area served by General Telephone Company of the Southwest that is, in the council's opinion, more favorable to the subscribers of this city, then that schedule of rates will apply instead of those listed in this ordinance. The effective date of the new rates shall be at the time of acceptance by other "second tier" cities or at such time as mutually agreed by the city council of the City of Wylie and General Telephone Company, whichever occurs first.
