A discussion was held regarding animals being brought into the building and the need for a more
defined policy to be put in place. A draft was given to the Board to review and then finalize at the next
meeting. In the meantime, the policy will be sent to the City Attorney for review and approval.

prohibiting their use.
STAFF REPORTS
Library Budget FY14:
• City Council Meetings @ 6:00pm on the following dates regarding FY14 Budget:
July 8, 2013 Library Advisory Board Regular Meeting Minutes Page 2 of 2
o July 16 — Department Budget presentations
o July 18 — Department Budget presentations — Library is scheduled to present
o July 30 - Special Budget Session (if needed)
o September 10 - Budget Approved
The budget is especially tight as a result of the tax rate being lowered last year. There are some items
that are one time purchases that may be approved; however, recurring costs will most likely not be
approved. As a result, it doesn't look good for the library to be given the funds needed to increase
hours. The increase would require additional hours for current part time employees and adding some
staff members.
