The site is located approximately 2000'west of the intersection of Brown Street and Westgate Way. Although the property is platted for 196 multi-family units it appears from our discussions that the City Council and residents in the community would prefer that alternative uses for the property be evaluated. You have indicated that there is a strong demand for various forms of senior housing and the City would be happy to help explore the demand for such housing on the Phase 10 and Phase 11 Tracts of land owned by Birmingham Farms,Ltd. We anticipate that it will be necessary for all concerned to sit down at some time in the future to discuss the viability of senior housing and the steps that may be necessary to insure its successful development at this location. Birmingham Village Partners will not proceed with the intended family housing development and will explore whether the pre-application can be changed and submitted as a senior application with TDHCA for tax credit financing this year. We look forward to meeting with you in the future.
