All matters listed under the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine by the City Council and will be enacted by
one motion. There will not be separate discussion of these items. If discussion is desired,that item will be removed
from the Consent Agenda and will be considered separately.
A. Consider and act upon approving Resolution #2004-10(R), amending Resolution #2004-06
and ordering a General Election to be held jointly with the Wylie Independent School
District, Collin County Community College District, and East Fork Water District on May
15, 2004 for the purpose of electing two members, Place 1 and 3, to the Wylie City Council
to fill expired terms.

Issue
Consider and act upon approving Resolution #2004-10(R), amending Resolution #2004-06 and
ordering a General Election to be held jointly with the Wylie Independent School District, Collin
County Community College District, and East Fork Water District on May 15, 2004 for the
purpose of electing two members, Place 1 and 3, to the Wylie City Council to fill expired terms.
Background
Council approved Resolution #2004-06 Ordering an Election at the February 10, 2004 Council
Meeting. The Resolution stipulates the polling places where qualified voters can cast ballots for
the election. It also outlines the early voting by personal appearance locations. These stipulations
are required to be included in the Election Order by Texas Election Code Sec. 3.006.
The Wylie Independent School District approved one additional permanent early voting location
and 10 temporary early voting locations in their election order dated March 15, 2004.
In order to meet the Election Code requirements, the City must approve an amended Election
Order that lists the additional early voting locations and times.
Early voting by personal appearance shall be available at the Collin County Elections Office, 2010
Redbud Blvd. Suite 102, McKinney, Texas, Wylie Municipal Complex, 2000 N. Highway 78,
Wylie, Texas, and WISD Administration Building, 951 S. Ballard Ave., Wylie, Texas beginning
on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 through Tuesday, May 11, 2004 during normal working hours of
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with extended voting hours on Saturday, May 1, 2004 from 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 6, 2004 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Applications for a ballot by
mail shall be requested from and mailed to the Collin County Elections Administration Office,
Attn: Elections Administrator, 2010 Redbud Blvd., Suite 102, McKinney, Texas 75069.
Applications for ballots by mail must be received no later than the close of business on May 7,
2004.
