In accordance with Chapter 551, Government Code, Vemon's Texas Code Annotated (Open Meeting Law),
Section 551.072 Deliberation Regarding Real Property;to deliberate the purchase,exchange,lease, or value of
real property(F.M. 1378)if deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the
governmental body in negotiations with a third person.

Take any action as a result of Executive Session.
In addition to any specifically identified Executive Sessions,Council may convene into Executive Session at any
point during the open meeting to discuss any item posted on this agenda. The Open Meetings Act provides specific
exceptions that require that a meeting be open. Should Council elect to convene into Executive Session, the
sections of the act authorizing the closed session will be identified and announced. Any subsequent action, as a
result of this Executive Session,will be taken and recorded in open session.

RESOLUTION NO
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS,
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CANVASS FOR THE ELECTION RETURNS OF
THE GENERAL ELECTION OF MAY 4, 2002; GENERAL ELECTION FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ELECTING THE MAYOR AND TWO MEMBERS OF THE WYLIE CITY
COUNCIL, PLACES 5 AND 6 FOR A TERM OF THREE YEARS.
WHEREAS, The Wylie City Council of the City of Wylie, Texas (City) held a General
Election on May 4, 2002 for the purpose of electing the Mayor and two members of the Wylie City
Council for a term of three years.
WHEREAS, A Canvass of the General Election returns was conducted on May 7, 2002.
WHEREAS, It was found that the persons herein named received the following votes for said
term of office on the Wylie City Council of the City of Wylie, Texas:

Ted Mumaw
John Mondy
COUNCIL PLACE 5
Julie Schmader
J.C. Worley
COUNCIL PLACE 6
Chris Trout
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WYLIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. is hereby declared to be elected Mayor.
SECTION 2. is hereby declared to be elected Council Member Place 5.
SECTION 3. Chris Trout is hereby declared to be elected Council Member Place 6.

SECTION 6. The Wylie City Council hereby finds and determines, as a result of the Canvass,
held on May 7, 2002, that a combined Election Day and Early Vote total of votes were cast
in the General Election, with early voters, as indicated by the poll list for the General Election
held on May 4, 2002.
SECTION 7. It is hereby declared that the City of Wylie approves and accepts the results of
the General Election for, Mayor, Council Place 5 and 6 as set forth in the Order attached hereto as
Exhibit A, as determined by the majority vote of the qualified voters of the City of Wylie and the
necessity of a runoff election to determine the position of Mayor.
SECTION 8. This Resolution will become effective after its passage by the Wylie City
Council.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE WYLIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WYLIE, TEXAS, on this 7th day of May, 2002.
