1. Consider and act upon approving the Minutes from the June 19, 2006 meeting.
2. Consider and act upon the proposed parkland dedication in the Alanis Crossing Development.
Development was previously called the Hood Track. Presentation will be made by Tim Colhart
of the Skorberg Company.
3. Consider and act upon amending the current athletic lighting and user fees in the Fee Ordinance 2002-10.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
4. Staff updates:
Current watering procedures at all park areas and athletic fields.

ALANIS CROSSING PARKS BOARD SUBMISSION 7/20/06
Due to the unique challenges associated with this 61.26 acre property we would like to offer two
options to the Parks Board as follows:
OPTION 1
Developer dedicates 1.5 acres of park(no park fees due) as shown on the attached concept plan
in addition to dedicating to the City the 100' ROW for Alanis Drive.
a. Total park land acreage to be dedicated.
• 1.5 acres
b. Park land acreage totals in and out of floodplain (if applicable).
• None in floodplain
c. Total acreage for area to be platted (entire development and/or each phase)
• 61.26 acres
d. Total number of lots to be developed (residential lots for entire development and/or
each phase).
• 98 lots
e. Describe/list any easements that may be within the park land acreage to be
dedicated.
• none
f. Value of any improvements the developer is considering installing or constructing in
the park land dedication area.
• The subdivision would include a 5 foot hike and bike trail that would link
to Braddock Place to the south for a future connection to the elementary
school and the Braddock Place Park (this may offer a future connection
to community park to the north)—Value Approx$20,000
• The developer will build an onsite children's playground not to exceed
$20,000.
• The developer will provide 10 parking spaces accessed from Alanis Dr—
Value Approx$10,000
g. Show that the proposed park land dedication is adjacent to and has access to a
street.
• The park land dedication is adjacent to Alanis Boulevard
h. Show any connections to the existing park land in the vicinity of the proposed
development.
• There will be a connection to the Alanis Dr sidewalk to the main entrance
of the subdivision
OPTION 2
Developer dedicates 5 acres of park in the same area as option 1. City purchases ROW for
Alanis Dr from Developer with approved acquisition funds from 2005 bond election.

dedicated.

the park land dedication area.

g. Show that the proposed park land dedication is adjacent to and has access to a
street.
• The park would be adjacent to Alanis Drive.
h. Show any connections to the existing park land in the vicinity of the proposed
development.
• There will be a connection to the Alanis Dr sidewalk to the main entrance of
the subdivision
Both options:
• Will ensure the parkland has sewer and water connections
• Dedication flat and useable land
• Will be clear of any unwanted vegetation
