RITA & TRUETT SMITH LIBRARY BOARD BOARD MEETING The Library Board of the city of Wylie met in special session on September 13, 1999 at the Library at 7:00 p.m. The attendees were: Geri Whitt Shirley Burnett Joe Conely Grace Morrison 1. Approval of the Minutes. Minutes were approved as read from the August 9, Meeting. 2. Discuss Monthly Report The Board was pleased with the monthly statistics. Gerry asked about the web site hit increase. The web hits for the month of August increased significantly because Mignon is using software that stats hits for every page. 3. Discuss Collin County Funding Shirley and Mignon attended the Collin County Commissioners' hearing on September 1, 1999. The commissioners had originally decided to cut all funding for the remainder of FY 99 and for FY 2000 for libraries that are not filtering. They reconsidered the decision at the hearing and decided to fund libraries for the remainder of FY 99. Discuss Community Networking Grant The City of Wylie and the Wylie ISD are writing a grant to hire a planner/consultant to write Community Networking Plan. The planning grant will be for $20,000 and the Implantation grant will be for $500,000. The planning grant is due October 1. NEW BUSINESS The 4B budget approval is on the City Council agenda for September 14. OLD BUSINESS CITIZEN PARTICIPATION ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
