CALL TO ORDER
The Public Arts Advisory Board meeting was called to order at 5:13 p.m. by Chairman Anne Hiney.
Board members present included: Lynn Grimes, Lisa Green, and Margaret Boyd. Brit Volker, Gaynell
Reed and Kathy Spillyards were absent.
Staff present included: Carole Ehrlich, board liaison, and Craig Kelly, Public Information Officer.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
• Discussion regarding final plans for the 2015 JazzArts Festival (JazzArts Fest).

Food Trucks — Lisa Green and Carole Ehrlich reported PAAB liaison Ehrlich reported that Rockin Ricks Cajun
Food, Bold BBQ and the Pink trucks were confirmed along with gourmet coffee and smoothies, kettle corn and
Italian Ice.
Entertainment — Anne and Britt / School Bands — Britt Volker reported the schedule was full with 6 High School
and Intermediate bands and 6 professional bands scheduled to entertain.
Children's Activities — Board member Boyd reported she purchased all the supplies for the children's sculpture
project and Community Canvas. Ehrlich reported color pages of the downtown mural would be available for
handout and onsite coloring. Lisa Green volunteered to get crayons. The children's petting zoo was confirmed
and the Rad Hatter(confirmed).
Art Organizations and Vendors — The Art Committee reported they had approved 18 fine artists. Positioning of
vendor booth were complete and set up would be Friday night from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday morning from 6:30 to
8:30 am.
Advertisement — Craig Kelly reported he was advertising with CBS radio (Jack) for 40 spots and was also
advertising with DMN Neighbors Go (Rowlett, Allen, Richardson, Murphy, Sachse, Rockwall and would hit each
paper twice during the two weeks prior to the event. He also reported advertising on Facebook, Tweeter, City
Newsletters and Website. Free article in the Connection.
Itemized Costs for the Event— PIO Craig Kelly reported expenses were within the budget at this time.

Discussion regarding the 2016 JazzArts Fest and 2015 summer planning. A meeting was set for April 22, 2015 to
discuss 2016 festival planning and schedule meetings during the summer months.
REGULAR AGENDA
1. Consider, and act upon, approval of the Public Arts Advisory Board minutes from
the April 1, 2015 Special Called meeting. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison)
Board Action
A motion was made by board member Grimes, seconded by board member Boyd to approve the
minutes from the April 1, 2015 Public Arts Advisory Board meeting. A vote was taken and the motion
passed 4-0 with Board members Spillyards, Volker and Reed absent.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business before the board, a motion was made by board member Grimes, seconded by
board member Boyd to adjourn the meeting at 5:53 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion passed 4-0 with
board members Spillyards, Volker and Reed absent.
