CALL TO ORDER
The Public Arts Advisory Board meeting was called to order at 6:09 p.m. by Chairman Lynn Grimes.
Board members present included: Lynn Grimes, Brooke Lopez, Anita Jones, Lisa Green, and Michelle
Pugh. Board members Margaret Boyd and Lauren Howard were absent.
Staff present included: Carole Ehrlich, board liaison.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
• Update/Discussion regarding the 2015 Wylie Arts Festival (C. Ehrlich, PAAB
Liaison-Board)
Staff Comments
PAAB liaison Ehrlich reported there had been 43 vendor applications, including food vendors submitted. The
deadline is October 16, 2015 and it is anticipated there will be at least 90— 100 received applications by and after
the deadline. Ehrlich noted a $25.00 late fee will be assessed for all applications that are received after the
deadline.
Board Chair Grimes reminded members that it is imperative that each member bring in sponsorships for
the event. 50% of the overall income is derived from sponsorships. To date only two had been received.
• Overview of the Public Safety Art Project Dedication. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison-
Board)
Staff Comments
Chair Grimes asked members for comments regarding the event. PAAB member Lopez asked that attendees be
able to determine where they can sit and have some kind of signage or rope allowing visitors to know where they
can and cannot sit. PAAB liaison Ehrlich noted that signage and roping would also be great additions to the next
dedication. She also suggested that members individually engage attendees that look like they need a seat and
let them know where they can sit.
Chair Grimes stated she was thrilled with the speakers and overall dedication. She shared news articles in the
Dallas Morning News about the event.

REGULAR AGENDA
1. Consider and act upon approval of the Public Arts Advisory Board minutes from
the July 23, 2015 Regular meeting. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison)
Board Chair Grimes reported a typographical error on the agenda posting. The posting should have
read Public Arts Advisory Board minutes from August 20, 2015. The correct posting will be made next
month for approval of the August 20th minutes. No action is required tonight.
2. Consider and act upon approval of the Public Safety Art Project by Sid
Henderson and final payment of$6,198.00. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison)
Staff Comments
PAAB Liaison Ehrlich addressed the board stating the sculpture for the Public Safety Building has been completed
and dedicated. The board must approve the final sculpture and authorize the final payment to artist Sid
Henderson of$6,198.00.
Board Action
A motion was made by Board member Green, seconded by Vice Chair Jones to approve the final
sculpture for artist Sid Henderson and authorize the final payment of $6,198. A vote was taken and the
motion passed 7-0.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business before the board, a motion was made by board member Lopez, seconded by
board member Green to adjourn the meeting at 6:18 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion passed 5-0
with board members Howard and Boyd absent.
