PRESENTATIONS
DISCUSSION ITEMS
Each Library Board member introduced themselves to Eric LeJeune,
new Library Board member.
The new Library will have clay on the back with windows. Shirley Burnett and Jim
Griffin contributed to the conversation because they attended the architect session. The
clay will be used because the material that was first proposed did not meet the building
code.
There will be a wall with artwork so that the children's area is blocked off and to include
the ability to display art. They have not decided on colors.
Rachel and Donna toured ImaginOn in North Carolina.
The clay will cost less than the glass. The clay will not be flat but will reflect and seem
like different shades.

Staff met with the AV consultant to discuss equipment. Mark, from Architexas, is
working on the final design. We have lost some square footage at the end of the building
because of the steps.
The Teen Center was moved further into the building because of a value added
consideration. The Construction Manager is looking at ways to save money.
The Study Rooms were lost at the end of the building, but will be added back into the
plans.
The Children's Area will have some walls to keep the children in the area. The puppet
stage will be in the Story Telling Room.
Rachel will contact Shoemaker and Hardt in regards to the cafe.
The Teen Center is not losing square footage.
The building will not be LEED certified, but will incorporate LEED features.
There are poles throughout the building. The Construction Manager is studying the poles
to make sure that they are not in areas that are a hindrance.
