BOARD MEETING
The Library Board of the city of Wylie met in regular session on June 11, 2001
at the Library. The attendees were:

1. Approval of the Minutes.
Minutes were approved as read from the May 14, 2001, meeting.
2. Discuss and Act Upon Approval of the 4b budget.
The Library Advisory Board approved the 4b budget for $73,000. Funds are
being requested for materials, computer upgrades, the one staffing position,
and Summer Reading Club.
3. Discuss Monthly Report.
There were significant increases in circulation for the month of May. There
was a daily record broken on May 29 with 923 checkouts. Other numbers
increased as well.
4. Discuss Friends of the Library Fundraisers.
The Friends of the Library Book Fair grossed $2314.97 and the profits were
$578.74. In addition, the Library received $230 worth of materials free.
5. Discuss Library Patron Survey.
The Board was pleased at the number of people who responded to the
survey. There were over 300 people who filled out surveys. The results
indicated that patrons are pleased with library services and would like more
programs and more materials for the collection.
6. Discuss Computer Problems.
A computer server has been purchased with TIF funds for virus software.
This will protect the Library's network from viruses and reduce the likelihood of
getting another virus.

OLD BUSINESS
The Library received twelve more boxes of donations from Pat Riehm today. The
Library staff is waiting for the appraiser to evaluate the donations. After the appraiser
comes, the staff will go through the books and choose the ones that go in the
collection.
