BOARD MEETING
The Library Board of the City of Wylie met in regular session on March 11, 2003, at the
Library. The attendees were:

Grace Morrison
Pauline Akin
Adrian Sanchez
Liz Allen
ACTION ITEMS
1. Approval of the Minutes.
Minutes were approved as read from the January 13,2003, meeting.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
2. Discuss Monthly Reports.
The January and February reports were discussed. The library was very
slow during inclement weather in February, but still exceeded last year's
circulation numbers.
3. Discuss Legislative Issues.
Mignon updated the Library Board on the latest legislative issues. The
latest bill is HB 1842, which, if passed, will require libraries to have a
separate area for adult computer usage. HB 1635 has been introduced
too and it will prohibit libraries from getting TIF funds if it is passed. The
board was encouraged to write legislators and express the need for TIF
funds to continue.
4. Discuss Spring Programs.
March is Arts Month at the Library. There are several programs planned
for the month. A special flyer has been distributed to promote the
programs in March and April. (Note: The Young Writer's Workshop has
been rescheduled to late April.)
