04-21-2016 (Public Arts Advisory) Minutes Public Arts Advisory Board ICITY OF WYLIE Minutes Regular Meeting April 21, 2016 — 6:00 p.m. Wylie Municipal Complex Council Chambers/Conference Room 300 Country Club Road, Bldg. 100 • CALL TO ORDER The Public Arts Advisory Board meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Lynn Grimes. Board members present included: Lynn Grimes, Michelle Pugh, Anita Jones, Lisa Green, and Nancy Peirce. Board members Margaret Boyd and Brooke Lopez, were absent. Staff present included: Carole Ehrlich, board liaison. DISCUSSION ITEMS • Update and discussion regarding beginning processes for the 2016 CIP Thoroughfare Public Art Projects. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison-Board) Staff Comments Staff updated the board on submissions received and other items related to the 2016 IP Thoroughfare • Public Art Projects. To date about 2lartists had submitted through CaFE. Ehrlich reported CaFE had indicated that more would be coming closer to the deadline. Ehrlich noted she would keep the board apprised of new submissions. • Discussion regarding the 2016 Bluegrass on Ballard to be held July 2, 2016. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison) Staff Comments PAAB liaison Ehrlich gave an update on the 2016 event planning. She reported there were submissions for 6 food vendors and 34 craft vendors with two months remaining until the event. The board discussed splitting the board members into two groups; one group to work 6 am — 1 pm and the other to work 1 pm— 10 pm. The board was in agreement to work split shifts. Consider and act upon approval of the Public Arts Advisory Board minutes from the March 17, 2016 Regular meetings and the March 31, 2016 Special Called Meeting. (C. Ehrlich, PAAB Liaison) Board Action A motion was made by Vice Chair Jones, seconded by board member Peirce to approve the minutes from March 17, 2016 and March 31, 2016 as presented. A vote was taken and the motion passed 5-0 with board members Boyd and Lopez absent.
