CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
Members present: Mindy Ayers, Todd Abronowitz, Janice Borland, Shirley Burnett, Kenneth Cash, Jesse
Meason & Rachel Orozco, Board Liaison
Members absent: None
CITIZENS COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Residents may address Board regarding an item that is not listed on the Agenda. Residents must provide their name
and address. Board requests that comments be limited to three(3)minutes. In addition, the Board is not allowed to
converse, deliberate or take action on any matter presented during citizen participation.
No citizens were present at the meeting.
PRESENTATION
No presentation was given at the meeting.
ACTION ITEMS
The Library Board Minutes of Monday,January 9, 2017 were approved as presented.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
Privacy Policy Update: A discussion was held to review suggested revisions to the Policy that were
received from the City Attorney. Rachel will consult with the City Attorney with questions that arose
from the Board regarding some of the suggested revisions. The Policy was tabled for final discussion and
approval pending receipt of further clarification from the City Attorney.
Patron Behavior Policy: Members reviewed and discussed proposed revisions to the Policy. Rachel will
make the revisions and forward the Policy to the City Attorney for review. Upon return from City
Attorney Rachel will present to Board for further discussion and revision.

LEGO League: February 15 and March 1 &22:
For kids in 1st-4th grades. Come show off your creativity and build around a different theme every
month. Cooperation and building on theme are encouraged but not required.Everyone will have a chance
to present their awesome LEGO designs to the group. Age limits strictly enforced. No parents or
younger/older siblings please. Space is limited. Registration required at the Children's Desk.
• February: Travel Back in Time: Build Something from Ancient Egypt
• March: Let's Go Fly a Kite! Building Things That Fly
3rd Grade Voyagers Club: February 16 & March 23 from 3:30-4:30pm
A learning club just for 3rd graders! Register at the Children's Desk to receive your passport. Space is
limited.
• February: Paleontology with the Heard Natural Science Museum
• March: Out of this World: Explore the Universe
BeTween Book &Movie Club: February 23 and March 30 from 6:00-7:00pm
Never judge a book by its movie. 4th, 5th and 6th graders are invited to discuss different books that have
movie adaptations. Sign up at the Children's desk. The first 50 kids to sign up get a free copy of the book.

• March: The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo
Teen Book Club: March 2 from 6:00-7:00pm
6-12th graders join us for the Teen Book Club. Snacks and drinks are provided. Stop by the Teen Room
for more information and to register.

• March: In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters
Sensory Storytime: March 4 from 10:00-11:00am
Let us be a part of your puzzle. For Pre-k through 2❑d grade children with sensory integration challenges.

hours before the program. Space is limited to ensure a positive experience for all.
Seed Swap: February 25 @ 1:30pm
Save your seeds for our first Seed Swap! Doors open at 1:30PM to set out seeds. Swapping runs 2:00-
4:00PM. You're welcome to come even if you don't have seeds to bring.Two Master Gardeners will be
on hand to answer questions and get you started on the garden of your dreams. Suitable for adults and
families. Contact the Help Desk for information on what to bring, types of seeds accepted, and more.
Booked on Fridays: March 10 @ 12:00 Noon
Bring your lunch at noon the 2nd Friday of each month for fun reads and light conversation.

Coloring for Adults: March 11 @ 2:00pm
Discover the fun of coloring to relax and make new friends. Sheets and pencils provided, but you're
welcome to bring your own. Feel free to bring a snack as well.
