appropriate news media,and posted on the City website: www.wylietexas.gov within the required time frame.
The Chairman and Board request that all cell phones and pagers be turned off or set to vibrate. Members of the audience are requested to step outside the
Conference Room to respond to a page or to conduct a phone conversation.
The Smith Public Library is wheelchair accessible. Sign interpretation or other special assistance for disabled attendees must be requested 48 hours in
advance by contacting the City Secretary's Office at 972-516-6020.

Discover the fun of coloring to relax and make new friends. Sheets and pencils provided, but you're
welcome to bring your own. Feel free to bring a snack as well.
Peeps on Parade Art Contest: May 20
All Ages. Show off your Peeptastic skills and imagination! Bring your literary-themed art made out of
Peeps to display for the public. Exhibit and voting open to the public 2:00-4:OOPM. Prizes will be
awarded by age categories. See our website for entry rules and more information.
WordSmith Author Series with Carolyn Haines & Kelley Armstrong: May 27
At 10:30am Carolyn Haines, best known for her Sarah Booth Delaney series,will conduct a writing
workshop that is suitable for older teen and adults. Register through EventBrite. At 1:00 p.m., Haines is
joined by Kelley Armstrong for a panel discussion and Q&A. Signing will follow. Armstrong is best
known for her Otherworld fantasy series and Casey Duncan mystery series, as well as Darkest Powers
and Darkness Rising teen series and The Blackwell Pages middle grade series. Limit of two items signed
per author. Participants may bring their own or purchase copies onsite from Barnes &Noble. Free
tickets for the panel and signing will be handed out starting at 10 a.m. the day of the event.

PRESENTATION
No presentation was given at the meeting.
ACTION ITEMS
The Library Board Minutes of Monday, February, 2017 were approved as presented. No meeting was
held in March.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
Board Members introduced themselves to the newest member,Mark Crader.
The Board reviewed,discussed and made revisions to the 3D Printer Policy and Order Form. The library
board recommended that the source of the object be included in the order form. It was also recommended
that library staff try only one attempt if the initial object design is not printing accurately. The fines/fees
portion was edited to read: "Library cards fines/fees may not exceed $5.00." The language for the
fees for printing was changed to be more general with the Fines/Fees Ordinance as Exhibit A.
Motion was made to approve the 3D Printer Policy and Order Form with said revisions and was
unanimously approved by all Board Members.

Japanimation Club: April 13 from 6:00-7:00pm—No May Meeting
6th-12t''graders come geek out about all things anime and manga in the storytime room! No registration
required.
My Very Own Book Club: April 19& 21 from 3:30-4:30pm—No May Meeting
My Very Own Book Club is for 1st&2nd graders. Kids are encouraged to read the book on their own
time and then come to the meeting for discussion and a craft. Sign up at the Children's desk.
Participation is limited,but all participants get a free copy of the book.

3rd Grade Voyagers Club: April 20 from 3:30-4:30pm—No May Meeting
A learning club just for 3rd graders! Register at the Children's Desk to receive your passport. Space is
limited.
• April: Digging Into Spring at our Library Garden
LEGO League: April 26 from 3:30-4:30—No May Meeting:
For kids in 1st-4th grades. Come show off your creativity and build around a different theme every
month. Cooperation and building on theme are encouraged but not required. Everyone will have a chance
to present their awesome LEGO designs to the group. Age limits strictly enforced.No parents or
younger/older siblings please. Space is limited. Registration required at the Children's Desk.
• April: Back to Nature: Build Things that Grow!
BeTween Book&Movie Club: April 27 from 6:00-7:00pm—No May Meeting
Never judge a book by its movie. 4 , 5th and 6th graders are invited to discuss different books that have
movie adaptations. Sign up at the Children's desk. The first 50 kids to sign up get a free copy of the book.
• April: The BFG by Roald Dahl
Reading Challenges:
Don't forget our new reading challenges for adults 18 and up! The Winter Reading Challenge ends March
31. Successful challengers earn a mug and collectible pin. The Read More Challenge runs the whole year
till December 30. Successful challengers earn a commemorative t-shirt(available for pick up in early
2018). See the Help Desk for logs and full details, or print out logs at home from our website.
Anime MeetUp: April 22 (a, 1:30pm
Age 17 &up. Join our group for adult fans to discuss and discover anime,manga and Japanese pop
culture.
Fundamentals to Financial Freedom: April 27(l 6:30
Join us for a special Money Smart Week presentation by Susan Bowles, a Ramsey Solutions Master
Financial Coach. Topics include budgeting,debt elimination,understanding your credit report,
investment basics and more.
