City PolicemanAN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT, TERM OF OFFICE, SALARY AND QUALIFICATION OF CITY POLICEMAN IN AND FOR THE CITY OF VIYLIE, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE., TEXAS:. Section 1. That J. W. Bradley be and is hereby appointed City Policeman in and for the City of Nylie, Texas. Section 2. That the said J. W. Bradley shall hold his office at the pleasure.of the City Council and for such term as the City Council may from time to time direct. Section 3. That the said J. 71. Bradley, City Policeman shall receive: a salary of Ninety -Five (095.00), Dollars per month, together with all fees of his office as allowed sheriffs and constables in like cases for his seviees as City Policeman. Section 4. That before entering upon the duties of his office the said J. W. Bradley, City Policeman shall enter into a bond, payable to the City of Wylie, Texas, with two or more good and sufficient sureties, to be ap- proved by the City Council of Wylie, in the penal surd of One Thousand - (y�z1,000.00), Dollars, conditioned for the faithful and impartial discharge and performance of his duties as City Policeman, and for such other duties and obligations as is required by law. Section 5. That before antering upon the duties of his office the said J. W. Bradley, City Policeman shall take and subsoribea to the Con- stitutional Oath of Office. Section.f. That such City Policeman so appointed shall have like powers, rights and authority as is by lwv vested in City Marshalls by the Consti- tution and Lav;s of this State. Provided that said City Policeman shall not be required to assess and collect the City taxes. Section. 7. The faet.that there is a vacancy in the office of City Policeman and that the City of Wylie has no peace officer at the present time, and the factthat the City of Wylie desires that its laws be enforced and its citizens protected, and the importance of the ordinance, creates an emergency and imperative public necessity for the suspension of the rules requiring ordinances to be read upon more than one day and for the imme- diate taking effect of this ordinance, and such rules are hereby suspended, and it is ordained that this ordinance shall take effect and be in force on this the 4th. day of February A D 1925. Bradley, was on the 4th. day of Feb- ruary A D 1925, appointed by the City Council of The City of Wylie, Texas, to the office of City Police in and for The City of Wylie, Texas: Now there- fore the condition of the above obligation is such, that if the said J. W.
