CALL TO ORDER
Board Co-chairperson Jones called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with Board Member Chesnut, Board
Member Rose, and Board Member Kinser in attendance. Board Chairperson Robinson and Board Member
Gilbert were both absent from the meeting. Board Member Swendig arrived to the meeting at 6:33 p.m.
Staff members present were Parks and Recreation Director Diaz, Parks Manager Brent Stowers, and Parks
Board Secretary Janet Hawkes.
CITIZENS PARTICIPATION
No citizens came forward.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Consider and act upon approval of the minutes from the January 14, 2019
Regular Meeting.
Board Action:
Board Member Kinser made a motion to approve the minutes from the January 14, 2019 regular
meeting. Board Member Rose seconded the motion, and a vote was taken and passed 4-0.
2. Consider and act upon the vendor application for the Wylie Citizen's Police
Academy Alumni Association Cops and Robbers Fundraiser 5K and Fun Run
to be held at Founders Park on September 21, 2019.
Board Action:
Board Member Chesnut made a motion to approve the Wylie Citizen's Police Academy Alumni
Association Cops and Robbers Fundraiser 5K and Fun Run to be held at Founders Park on
September 21, 2019. Board Member Kinser seconded the motion, and a vote was taken and passed
5-0.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
• Master Plan and projects update.
Director Diaz updated the Board on ongoing projects. The Steering Committee meeting is scheduled
to review the online survey results with our consultants Dunaway and Associates Inc. on February
18, 2019.
No updates for Braddock Park Concept Design or Parkside Park Concept Design; however the first
draft for both is expected in the spring of 2019.
Kimley-Horn and Associates are in process of designing the Twin Lakes/Southbrook Trail connection
for phases two and three. Collin County grant options may be a possible source of funding toward
the project.
The Brown House Feasibility Study draft is ready for review and will be presented to City Council
during a work session on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. The Historical Review Board, Historical
Society, and representatives from Kimley-Horn and Associates will be in attendance for the meeting;
Parks and Recreation Board Members are all invited to participate. The consultants are
recommending that the Brown House be utilized as a welcome center or tourist type facility in the
future due its limited size and inability to adequately accommodate rentals.
The Stonehaven House Feasibility Study will begin at the completion of the Brown House Feasibility
Study.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Board Member Rose. Board Member
Chesnut seconded the motion, and a vote was taken and passed 5-0. The meeting was adjourned at 6:55
p.m.

Discussion
The Wylie East Cross Country Team would like to sell items such as concessions and t-shirts at their meet that
is to be held at Founders Park on August 31, 2019. Funds raised from the items sold will be used to support the
cross country team.
The Parks and Recreation Board approved this vendor application the previous three years. Parks staff did not
have any issues or concerns from previous year's event and is recommending approval.
