Committee members Courtney, Schwerin, and Bennett will further discuss fundraiser ideas for the 2019
Wylie Arts Festival with the board.

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Consider, and act upon, approval of the minutes from the February 21, 2019
Public Arts Advisory Board Regular Meeting. (C. Ehrlich, Public Art Coordinator)
2. Consider, and act upon, approval of the final sculpture, "RESCUED" (Wylie
Animal Shelter) by artist Robert Barnum and approval of the final payment of
$5,250.00.
Executive Summary
Artist Robert Barnum has completed his fabrication and installation of the Wylie Animal Shelter
Public Art, "RESCUED". Pursuant to the contract, the engineering and building inspections
department have signed off on the project. Staff is requesting the board's approval of the
sculptures and the artist's final payment of$5,250.00.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
If during the course of the meeting covered by this notice,the Public Arts Advisory Board should determine that a closed or executive meeting or session of
the Public Arts Advisory Board,or a consultation with the attorney for the City,should be held or is required,then such closed or executive meeting or
session or consultation with attorney as authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act,Texas Government Code§551.001 et.seq.,will be held by Public Arts
Advisory Board at the date,hour,and place given in this notice as the Public Arts Advisory Board may conveniently meet in such closed or executive
meeting or session or consult with the attorney for the City concerning any and all subjects and for any and all purposes permitted by the Act,including,but
not limited to,the following sections and purposes:
Texas Government Code Sections:
§551.071—Private consultation with an attorney for the City.
§551.073—Discussing prospective gift or donation to the City.
§551.076—Discussing deployment of security personnel or devices or security audit.

CALL TO ORDER
The Public Arts Advisory Board meeting was called to order at 6:19 p.m. by Chair Michael Schwerin. Members
present included: Marjorie Bennett, Nancy Peirce, Ross Grant and Anita Jones. Lily Courtney and Minerva
Bediako were absent.
Staff present included Public Arts Coordinator Carole Ehrlich.
DISCUSSION ITEMS

Board Comments
Ehrlich reported that artist Robert Barnum had submitted photos of the fabrication process and shared
them with the board. Ehrlich noted that the artist had reached the half completed milestone and would
be paid $7,500 per the contract. She reported installation is scheduled for Spring 2019.

Board Comments
Chair Schwerin and board member Bennett reported that the committee had started to create ideas
regarding this year's Wylie Arts Festival Fund Raiser. He reported two ideas they were discussing. The
first would be to have a pre-sale and sidewalk art walk. This would include visits to downtown merchants
who might give prizes for the attendees that guess certain pieces of art along the walk.
The board also looked at having a wine tasting event at the local winery on Friday night and tour of the
downtown area. Both of these options would include a sneak preview of the vendors for early sales on
Friday evening.

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Consider, and act upon, approval of the minutes from the January 17, 2019 Public Arts
Advisory Board Regular Meeting. (C. Ehrlich, Public Art Coordinator)
Board Action
A motion was made by board member Jones, seconded by board member Bennett to approve the January 17,
2019 Public Arts Advisory Board minutes. A vote was taken and the motion passed 5-0 with board members
Courtney and Bediako absent.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by board member Courtney, seconded by board member Jones to adjourn the meeting
at 6:46 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion passed 5-0 with board members Courtney and Bediako
absent.
