CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
Members present: Mindy Ayers,Janice Borland, Shirley Burnett, Rosalynn Davis, Jesse Meason, &
Rachel Orozco, Board Liaison
Members absent: Juan M.Azcarate III, Kenneth Cash
CITIZENS COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Residents may address Board regarding an item that is not listed on the Agenda. Residents must provide their name
and address. Board requests that comments be limited to three (3)minutes. In addition, the Board is not allowed to
converse, deliberate, or take action on any matter presented during citizen participation.
No citizens were present at the meeting.

The Library Board Minutes of Monday,March 11, 2019 was approved as presented.
REGULAR AGENDA—DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. Review of FY 20 Budget: Rachel provided informational handouts regarding the upcoming FY 20
budget.
a. Board members reviewed and discussed the effective tax rate and budget plans for the
City of Wylie.
b. Board members reviewed and discussed the FY 20 library budget including Expanded
Level of Service items.

Upcoming Library Programs:
Children
L.A.M.B.(Look at My Book)Program: Submissions through Saturday,May 4,2019
Reception on Saturday,May 11,2019:
This program was started in 2014 to encourage creativity, imagination and writing skills. Participants
write a book that is then displayed and added to the library collection for in-house check-out.
Participants may register to attend one of the Young Author's Receptions on 5/11/19.Young authors may
invite up to 4 guests to attend the reception where they will be recognized for their work and sign
autographs.
Teen
Japanimation Club: Thursday,April 11 from 6:00-7:00pm
For 6t-12`h graders only. Join us to geek out over anime and manga!
Adult
(Sub)Urban: Thursday,May 16th at 6:30pm
This talk will cover the unique challenges and opportunities that suburban homesteading can bring, with
specific focuses on keeping chickens, managing a garden, and rainwater catchment for irrigation among
others.
Genealogy Boot Camp: Saturday,May 18th at 10:00am
Discover tips and resources to help you discover your family history. Sessions will focus on death and
burial records, military records, understanding DNA test results, and more. Document scanning service
will also be available.
