CALL TO ORDER
The Public Arts Advisory Board meeting was called to order at 6:22 p.m. by Public Art Coordinator
Ehrlich. Members present included: Chair Michael Schwerin, Board members Anita Jones, Minerva
Bediako, John Treadwell, Ross Grant, and Marjorie Bennett. Board member Lily Courtney was
absent.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
• Committee report regarding fundraiser options for the 2019 Wylie Arts Festival.

Staff/Board Comments
Public Art Coordinator Ehrlich reported at the last meeting there was discussion regarding a
fund raiser. After some consideration and options from the committee, it was decided that in
lieu of a funC ais , the board wouk help increase sponsorships. Ehrlich handed out spcnsor
applications to each member and asked that .ach member try and obtain at least ono new
sponsorship for the event.
Board direction was to try and obtain additional sponsorships.
• Update re.garding the Wylie Arts Festival Event and Sponsorships
Board Comments
Public Arts Coordinator Ehrlich reported there were over 120 vendors and sponsor booths at
the event. There -'ere also 3 food vendors approved at this time.
She reported that board member Treadwell die obtain one Bronze sponsorship and had a few
businesses to follow up with.

• Discussion regarding art projects for 2019/20. (C. Ehrlich, Public Arts Coordinator)
Board Comments
PAC Ehrlich reported she had been in contact with stiff members to d ar .ne where in
Downtown Wylie an additional mural could be placed. She reported there were three white
walls in the downtown area that would be good sites for the art. She also reported she would
get in contact with Wylie ISD to see if their honor art students would be interested in having a
competition for the design that will be used and completing the project. In turn the City would
issue a scholarship for the work provided.
The board also discussed providing a call for artist to prepare for completion of a couple of
sites on the Municipal walking trails to provide small sculptures along the pathway. The board
directed that project to begin in January 2020.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Consider, and act upon, approval of the mi.lutes from the Lke _st 15, 2019
Public Arts Advisory Board Regular Meeting. (C. Ehrlich, Public Art Coordinator)
Board Action
A motion was made by board member Jones seconded by board member Bennett to
approve the August 15, 2019 Public Arts Advisory Board minutes. A vc' was taken and
the motion passed 6-0 with member Courtney absent.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by board member Jones, seconded by board rh..3maer Grant to
adjourn the meeting at 6:48 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion passed 7-0.
VENDOR SELECTION COMMITTEE DISCUSSION
Board members Jones, Treadwell, and Bennett met to review Wylie Arts Festival
applications. The review began at 6:50 p.m., and ended at 9:30 p.m.
