CALL TO ORDER
The Public Arts Advisory Board meeting was called to order at 6:23 p.m. by Public Art Coordinator
Ehrlich. Members present included:, Board members Michael Schwerin, Marjorie Bennett, Anita
Jones, Minerva Bediako, John Treadwell, and Lily Courtney. Board member Ross Grant,was absent.
Staff present included Public Arts Coordinator Carole Ehrlich.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
• Discussion regarding the Wylie Arts Festival and Final Plans for the Event
Board Comments
Public Arts Coordinator Ehrlich reported there were over 162 vendors and sponsor booths at
the event. There were also 6 food vendors approved at this time.
Ehrlich explained this would be the final meeting prior to the event and volunteers, work
schedules, children's activities and other items would be finalized for the event. She reported
the Wylie East ROTC would again work the event as volunteers on Friday and Saturday. There
were about 25 students signed up for the event.
Members agreed to work the event on Friday evening and Saturday with most staying the
entire day. Marjorie Bennett volunteered to work the children's booth with help from students.

Board Comments
PAAB Coordinator Ehrlich reported the Council had passed an ordinance limiting three full
terms on any one board. If a member wanted to re-apply after sitting out for one year they
could. All other requirements for the Public Arts Advisory Board remain the same.

Board Comments
PAC Ehrlich reported she had been in contact with staff members to determine where in
Downtown Wylie an additional mural could be placed. She reported there were three white
walls in the downtown area that would be good sites for the art. She also reported she would
get in contact with Wylie ISD and the property owners to see if any are agreeable to providing
the student and placement of the mural on the property. City would issue a scholarship for
the work provided. She stated she would report back at the January meeting.
Ehrlich reported it would be sometime in February before the Parks Master Plan which will
include placement of sculptures on the walking trails would be completed and approved by
council. She noted at that time the board could provide a call for artist to provide a couple of
small sculptures along the Municipal Complex walking trails.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Consider, and act upon, approval of the minutes from the October 17„ 2019
Public Arts Advisory Board Regular Meeting. (C. Ehrlich, Public Art Coordinator)
Board Action
A motion was made by board member Courtney, seconded by board member Jones to
approve the October 17, 2019 Public Arts Advisory Board minutes. A vote was taken and
the motion passed 6-0 with member Ross absent.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by board member Courtney, seconded by board member Bediako to
adjourn the meeting at 6:43 p.m. A vote was taken and the moti n passed 6-0 with board
member Ross absent.
