Wylie Parks and Recreation Board

CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
Chairman Daniel Chesnut called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. Board Members
present were: Frankie Delgado, Brandi Lafleur, and Anne Hiney. Board Members David
Willey, Benny Jones, and Donna Larson were absent.
Staff present were: Public Services Director, Mike Sferra; Parks Superintendent, Bill
Nelson; Assistant Parks Superintendent, Rob Diaz; and Park Board Secretary, Beth
Zoucha.
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION
There were no citizens present to address the Board for Citizen Participation.
BUSINESS ITEMS
There were no business items for consideration.

1. Discussion of planning and coordination of the City of Wylie's 120th
Birthday Celebration.
Staff Comments
Assistant Parks Superintendent Robert Diaz explained that council would like the Park
Board to come up with a budget and plan for the City of Wylie's 120th Birthday
Celebration
Board Comments
After considerable discussion the Park Board decided to recommend either moving the
120th Birthday Celebration to next year during Pioneer Days or making the 120th
Birthday Celebration a coordinated effort with the Rodeo in September to help defer
some substantial cost and an already over burdened volunteer effort.
Board Member Brandi Lafleur left at 7:43 p.m.
2. Staff Updates:
Staff/Board Discussion
Public Services Director Mike Sferra updated the board on TXU property near the gas
station and the Martinez Tract.
Board Member Anne Hiney asked about the construction management firm Architexas
for the Wells Property. Public Services Director Mike Sferra informed the board that the
Firm Architexas and The City of Wylie are still in negotiations.
Board Member Anne Hiney asked if the there was an update on the progress at
Founders Park. Parks Superintendent Bill Nelson responded that the sidewalk was
complete at Founders.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Board Chairman Daniel Chesnut and seconded by Board
Member Anne Hiney to adjourn. The Board adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
