Ordinance 1962-03 ORDmANCE J- ~2 '- 3 WHEREA.:>, the Mayor of the City of Wylie, Texas, has called an a Ii/~ayor and election to be held on April 3, 1962, for the purpose of electing four members of the City Council, two of which shall serve a regular term of two years and two of which shall serve for a period of one year filling unexpired terms caused by resignations; and Mayor for a full 2 ye8r term. lvl1~RSAS, there is a necessity to determine which candidates shall have two year terms and which candidates shall have one year terms; therefore, BE IT ORDAlliED BY THE CITY COm0CIL Of TEE CITY OF~JYl IE, TEXAS: That the two candidates receiving the largest number of votes shall be deemed elected for a term of two years and the two candidates receiving the next largest number of votes shall be deemed to have been elected for a period of one year; that if there be a tie for either of the positions so that it cannot be determ~ned which candidates have been elected for a two year term and which have been elected for a one year term then the candidates that have tied shall determine which of them shall serve which te rm.
