Staff Comments
Mr. Molina stated that the property is located at 227 Lake Travis and is currently zoned Single
Family 10/24.
The applicant is seeking a variance to allow for a 5 foot side setback for the placement of an
attached Patio cover that measures 140 square feet. The 5 foot side setback request is in lieu of
the normally required 10 foot rear setback. The applicant requested for the cover patio to be
allowed as his property has a side door and no rear door. The applicant is proposing to place the
covered patio where the existing door is located.
Public comment forms were mailed to 31 property owners. One response was received in favor
and one in opposition of the request.

Board members asked questions regarding the height and placement of the covered patio. Staff's
