ORDINANCE NO. 7 () - I )" AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, ESTABLISH- ING WATER AND SEWER RATES; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: /'- SECTION 1. The following monthly rates are hereby established and shall be collected for water services furnished by the City to residents located within the corporate limits of the City of Wylie, Texas: First 1,000 gallons $4.50 (Minimum monthly charge) Next 1,000 gallons 2.00 per 1,000 gallons Next 4,000 gallons 0.90 per 1,000 gallons Next 4,000 gallons 0.75 per 1,000 gallons Next 40,000 gallons 0.50 per 1,000 gallons All over 50,000 gallons 0.40 per 1,000 gallons -..... q . 1'.(' SECTION 2. The following monthly rates are hereby established and shall be collected for water services furnished by the City to persons located and situated outside the corporate limits of the City of Wylie, Texas: First 1,000 gallons (Minimum monthly charge) $6.00 Next 1,000 gallons 2.50 per 1,000 gallons Next 4,000 gallons 1.15 per 1,000 gallons Next 4,000 gallons 1.00 per 1,000 gallons Allover IO,OOO gallons 0.75 per 1,000 gallons // SECTION 3. The following monthly rates are hereby established and shall be collected for sanitary sewer services furnished by the City: (a) Single family residence Based on water usage: o - 1,000 gallons 1001 - 2,000 gallons Over 2,000 gallons $1.00 2.00 3.00 Two family residence $ 4.50 (b) (c) One residence and two apartments 6.00 (d) Apartment houses and trailer courts 3.00 plus 2.25 per unit (e) Laundries, factories, public schools, garages, service stations, retail stores, banks and hospitals 2.50 plus 1.00 per fixture (f) Slaughter house and other heavy industry 11.00 or 0.17 per 1000 gallons, which- ever is greater. ,. SECTION 4. Any person, firm or corporation viola- ting any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the municipal court shall be subject to a fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense, and each and every day any such violation shall continue shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 5. The fact that water and sewer rates charged by the City need to be adjusted creates an urgency and an emergency and in the preservation of public health, safety and welfare requires that this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and the publica- tion of the caption, as the law in such cases provides.
