ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 68-4 OF THE CITY SO AS TO EXEMPT VEHICLES USED
EXCLUSIVELY FOR RACING PURPOSES FROM THE PROVISION OF SAID
ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR PERMITS; PROVIDING PENALTIES; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WYLIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Any vehicle used exclusively for racing
purposes on private property and not required to be licensed
by the state of Texas is hereby exempt from the provisions of
Ordinance No. 68-4 of the City and will not be required to
comply with such ordinance.
SECTION 2. Any person desiring to build any vehicle
to be used for racing purposes as described above must obtain
a permit therefor from the City Manager when such vehicle is
to be built in an open area and not enclosed from view of the
public. All such permits shall expire ninety (90) days after
issuance.
SECTION 3. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction in the Municipal Court shall be subject to a
fine not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense,
and each and every day any such violation shall continue shall be
deemed to constitute a separate offense.
SECTION 4. The fact that Ordinance No. 68-4 does not
exempt certain vehicles used exclusively for racing purposes
creates an urgency and an emergency and in the preservation of
the public health, safety and welfare requires that this ordinance
shall take effect immediately from and after its passage, and the
publication of the caption, as the law in such cases provides.
