ORDINANCE NO. 70-15 OF THE CITY SO AS TO AMEND CERTAIN DEFINI-
'l'IONS CONTAINED TItEREIN; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED
TWO HlffiDRED DOLLARS ($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WYLIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 70-15 of the Ci ty of
Wylie, Texas be, and the same is hereby amended by amending the
last sentence of Definition 13, Page 5 of said ordinance, which
shall hereinafter read as follows, to-wit:
"The color should be compared to a standard and shall
not exceed fifty (50) units on a platinum-cobalt scale
ranging from I to 500 units."
SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 70-15 of the City of
Wylie, Texas be, and the same is hereby amended by adding a new
Paragraph 25 to Page 15 of said ordinance, which shall read as
follows, to-wi t:
"25 _ Any mercury greater than .005 parts per
million."
SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor and shall be subject to a fine not to exceed
Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense.
SECTION 4. The fact that Ordinance No. 70-15 regulat-
ing industrial waste needs to be amended creates an urgency and
an emergency and requires in the preservation of the public
health, safety and welfare that this ordinance shall take effect
immediately from and after its passage and the publication of the
caption, as the law in such cases provides.
