AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING DEPOSITS FOR WATER SERVICE.
ESTABLISHING A CHARGE FOR SETTING UP AND TURNING ON
WATER SKRVICE~ PROVIDING A SERVICE CHARGE FOR ALL
CHECKS RETURNED~ PRESCRIBING PENALTIES AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WYLI E , TEXAS :
Section 1. Each consumer of water from the City of Wylie
water system shall pay to the City a deposit in the following
amount:
Residential deposit
$10.00
$15.00
Commercial and Industrial
Said deposit shall be applied to the paYment of any unpaid bills
and, when so used, the deposits shall be restored to the original
amount. Any unused portion of the deposit shall be refunded
at any time the account or service is discontinued.
Section 2. There is hereby established a charge for setting
up a new account on the City utility records of $2.50 which shall
be applied each time that aawater consumer changes his place of
occupancy and requests water service.
Section 3. If it becmmes necessary to cut off water service
for nonpaYment, an additional charge of $4.00 shall be paid
prior to restoring such service.
Section 4. Any check or bank draft, used as paYment to the
City 66r services, which is returned for insufficient funds shall
result in an additional charge of $3.00 being levied against the
water consumer.
Section 5. This ordinance is cumulative of all other
ordinances on the subject and does not repeal any present
ordinances unless in conflict with this ordinance, in which case
this ordinance shall govern.
Section 6. Any person, firm or corporation not compling with
the provisions of this ordinance shall not receive water service
from the City of Wylie and shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and
upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine in any
amount not to exceed two hundred ($200.00) dollars for each
and every violation.
Section 7. The fact that there is no ordinance of the City
of Wylie, Texas regulating the fees provided for in this
ordinance, creates an emergency and public necessity that this
ordinance shall take effect immediatly after its passage,
approval and publication.
