ORDINANCE # 79-15
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #68-6"REGULATING THE KEEPING AND
POSSESSING OF LIVESTOCK WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY
OF WYLIE, TEXAS"; ADDING SECTION 1, (c) GAME COCK, PROHIBITING
THE KEEPING OF GM1E COCK (FIGHTING ROOSTERS) WITHIN THE CITY
LIMITS; IMPOSING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF; REPEALING AND
CONFLICTING SECTIONS OF ORDINANCES AND PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. HOGS, COWS, HORSES, MULES, SHEEP, GOATS, AND OTHER
LIVESTOCK.
(a) Same as Ordinance #68-6, Section 1 (a)
(b) Same as Ordinance #68-6, Section 1 (b)
(c) Game Cock. (Fighting Roosters)
It shall be unlawful for any person owning, raising or keeping of
Game Cock, fighting roosters or fighting fowl of any kind in the
City Limits.
SECTION 2. PENALTY FOR VIOLATION.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the prov1s1ons of
this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction, shall be fined not to exceed the sum of Two Hundred
Dollars ($200.00) for each offense, and each and every day such
offense 1S continued shall constitute a new and separate offense.
SECTION 3. EMERGENCY CLAUSE.
The fact that there is not an ordinance of the City of Wylie, Texas,
adequately controlling or prohibiting the owning, raising, or keep-
ing of game cock, fighting roosters, or fighting fowl of any kind
in the City Limits creates an urgency and an emergency and in the
preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, requires
that this ordinance shall take effect immediately after its passage
as the law in such cases provides.
