Ordinance 1979-20 ORDINANCE # 79-20 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE AMENDING SECTION SA,B,C,AND D OF ORDINANCE #74-15, ESTABLISHING A NEW SCHEDULE OF PERMIT FEES TO BE CHARGED ON ALL BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, OR ALTERATIONS REQUIRING A BUILDING PEIDIIT, REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED ($200.00) DOLLARS FOR EACH OFFENSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, The existing fee schedule for all building permits have been reviewed; and WHEREAS, The cost to perform the administrative and field work as- sociated with this function has increased; and WHEREAS, It is the opInIon of the City Manager that the fees be increased in order to meet the expense of this serVIce, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE SECTION 1. That section 5A,B,C,D of Ordinance 74-15 hereby be amended on all buildings, structures or alterations requiring a building permit. Fees shall be paid as required at the time of filing application, in accordance with the followinp, amended schedule: A. (1) For the first one thousand square feet of any building the rate of 6~ per square foot. (2) For the next one thousand square feet, the rate of 5~ per square foot. (3) For allover two thousand square feet, the rate of 4~ per square foot. (4) That the fee to be charged for unsealed buildings, such as open garages, warehouses, parking yards~ etc. shall be at the rate of 3~ per square foot. B. Repairs and Alterations. (1) Where the valuation does not exceed $100.00, no fee shall be required, unless an inspection is necessary, in which case there shall be a $12.00 fee. (2) For a valuation over $100.00, the fee shall be $8.00 per thousand of fraction thereof. C. Moving of Building or Structures. For the moving of any building or structure, the fee shall be $35.00. D. Demolition of Building or Structures. For the demolition of any building or structure, the fee shall be $25.00. SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, phrase, or clause of this Ordinance shall be declared invalid for any reason whatsoever, such decision shall not affect the remaining portions of this Ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect; and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable. SECTION 3. All provIsIons of any ordinance in conflict herewith are hereby repealed so far as it affects only that portion described herein. SECTION 4. Any person who violates any provIsIon of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined any sum not exceeding Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars.
