AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS ADOPTING THE NATIONAL
ELECTRICAL CODE, 1978 EDITION, REGULATING ELECTRIC WIRING, AP-
PARATUS AND FIXTURES, AND IN THE CONSTRUCTION, INSTALLATION, RE-
PAIR, ALTERATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRIC WIRING
APPARATUS AND FIXTURES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVID-
ING A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS
($200.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. There IS hereby adopted the National Electrical Code,
1978 Edition, and the same is hereby incorporated herein as if
copied in full. A copy of which is attached hereto and marked
Exhibit "AI! and made a part hereof for all purposes.
SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance, or of the National Electrical Code, 1978 Edition,
IS held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the portions of this ordinance or of the
National Electrical Code, 1978 Edition, which are not so declared
unconstitutional of invalid.
SECTION 3. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance, or of the National Electrical Code,
1978 Edition, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
in Municipal Court, shall be subject to a penalty of fine not to
exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense, and each and
every day any such violation shall continue shall be deemed to con-
stitute a separate offense.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and
after its passage and the publication of the caption, as the law in
such cases provides.
