ORDINANCE # 79-24
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #78-28 SECTION 1&2; PRESCRIBING REFUSE COL-
LECTION AND DISPOSAL RATES IN AND FOR THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS; REGULATING
GARBAGE DISPOSAL BY COMMERCIAL USERS OF THE CITY LANDFILL; PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE:
SECTION 1. RATES. Each premise within the Corporate limits of the City
of Wylie served from the publ ic water supply shall be charged for garbage
and trash collection and removal; Except those in Commercial Class IV or
special rate class as set by the City Sanitarian or City Manager, at the
following prescribed rates.
A. The fee for collection of refuse from residential prem-
ises, churches, lodges, mobile homes (per trailer), a-
partments (per unit) and duplexes (per unit) shall be
$5.00 per month.
B. COMMERCIAL RATES. Each commercial premise shall be
charged according to the class as determined by the City
Sanitarian or City Manager and the number of receptacles
based on the following:

SECTION 2. RATES. Use of the City Landfill by private persons, firms,
or Corporations:
A. All non-commercial residents of the City may dump for a
charge of $1.25 upon presentation of the current month's
water bill or receipt of deposit for water service, or
pay according to the schedule set forth in 2C.
B. All resident Commercial users of the landfill will be
required to pay fees as follows:
per pickup load $3.50
haulers and vehicles larger than pickups $6.50
C. All non-residents and commercially hired haulers wishing
to use the City Landfill will be required to pay according
to the following schedule:
per pickup (no sideboards) $10.00
commercially hired haulers and vehicles larger than
pickups $35.00 per month plus $1.50 per cubic yard.
D. All non-residents who deposit junk (refrigerators, stove,
air-conditioner, etc.) will be required to pay $6.00 per
article.
SECTION 3. Any person, firm or corporation or other entity who violates
any provision of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction of any such violation, shall be subject to a fine of
not less than one dollar ($1.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00).
SECTION 4. The fact that the collection and disposal of trash, garbage,
and rubbish is essential to the public health, safety, and welfare creates
an emergency and requires that this ordinance take effect immediately after
its passage.
