Ordinance 1983-13 ORDINANCE NO. 13-1.3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE PROVISIONS OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1982 ADDITION, REGULATING THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PLUMBING PIPES AND FIXTURES IN ALL BUILDINGS WITHIN THE CITY OF WYLIE; REPEALING THE SOUTHERN STANDARD PLUMBING CODE AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFORE; CONTAINING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wylie, Texas, in order to insure the public safety for its citizens and to conform to the Uniform Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Codes in use by most of the cities within the North Central Texas area, and WHEREAS, the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1982 Edition, with appropriate appendices, is designed to provide a good plumbing system with minimum regulations, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That certain documents, three copies of which are on file in the office of the City Secretary and being marked and designated as Uniform Plumbing Code, 1982 Edition, together without appendices A, B, C, D, E, G, H, and I are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part of this ordinance hereof as if fully set out within this ordinance. SECTION 2. That the present City of Wylie ordinance which adopted the Southern Standard Plumbing Code, together with other ordinances which may be in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed and superseded. SECTION 3. That the City Secretary shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the caption hereof to be published one time in the official newspaper of the City of Wylie. SECTION 4. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance is, for any reason, held to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. SECTION 5. That persons, firm or corporations found to be in violation of the terms of this ordinance shall be subject to a penalty not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00), and that each day of continuing violation shall be considered a separate violation. SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall be declared to be in full force and effect from and after 45 days after the adoption by the City Council and the publication of the caption one time in the official newspaper.
