Ordinance 1997-19 ORDINANCE NO. 1 '7 - / Y AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE ELECTION RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION OF SEPTEMBER 20,1997 FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPROVING OR DISAPPROVING KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN RAILROAD COMPANY'S DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTERMODALlMANIFEST RAIL FACILITY AND BUSINESS PARK TO BE LOCATED BETWEEN SPRING CREEK PARKWAY AND SKYVIEW LANE, NORTH OF STATE HIGHWAY 78, ELIMINATION OF S. H. 78 MAINLINE RAIL OPERATIONS AND DONATION OF RIGHT-OF-WAY TO THE CITY OF WYLIE BETWEEN F.M. 544 AND EUBANKS, WEST OF S. H. 78 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wylie, Texas (City) held a Special Election on September 20, 1997, for the purpose of approving or disapproving Kansas City Southern Railroad Company's Development of an Intermodal/Manifest Rail Facility and Business Park; and WHEREAS, the City Council met on September 23, 1997, and canvassed the election returns of the above-mentioned election; and WHEREAS, it was found that the proposal received the following votes: FOR 796 AGAINST 859 1 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: SECTION 1: The City Council hereby finds and determines, as a result of this Canvass, that a total of 487 early voters and 1,182 voted as indicated by the poll list for the Special Election held on September 20, 1997. SECTION 2: This Ordinance will become effective after its passage and publication as required by law and by Wylie's City Charter.
