CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
PAAB Secretary Ehrlich called the meeting to order at 6:16 pm with the following panel members present:
Roger and Karen Nitz,Karen Newman, Cindy Ingram, and, Steve Shank.Janet Smith was absent.
CITIZENS COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Residents may address the Board regarding an item that is not listed on the Agenda. Residents must fill out a non-
agenda form prior to the meeting in order to speak The Board requests that comments be limited to three(3)minutes.
In addition, the Board is not allowed to converse, deliberate, or take action on any matter presented during citizen
participation.
No citizens were present to address the board.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
All matters listed under the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine by the Board and will be enacted by one
motion. There will not be separate discussion of these items. If discussion is desirecl that item will be removed
from the Consent Agenda and will be considered separately.
A. Discussion regarding the artist's proposed designs for the Historic Downtown Mural to
be located at South Ballard and Oak Street.
Panel Discussion
PAAB Secretary Ehrlich reported that after the discussion of the last meeting where panel members asked
if two designs by separate students could be combined into the mural, using the"I See you Wylie"design
and adding music elements,Professor Mcllnay checked with Shea Ameen,creator of the"I See You Wylie"
design. She reported that Shea was not in favor of combining other elements of music into her original
design. She stated that she had put a lot of work into the design and preferred it to be her original.
The board was in consensus of leaving the design as originally presented and making just a few changes to
the design. The changes included: using the green cornea with highlights, presented in the "I See you

Wylie"design of Shea's;making the iris black with the imprint of the state of Texas in the middle with the
heart in the location of Wylie. They also asked that around the cornea the words "Heart of Texas" be
imprinted in Serif or a similar font.
Shea Ameen was present for the meeting and agreed to all the changes. She stated that she was very excited
to have her design selected and thanked the panel.
Ehrlich reminded the panel that she would take the fmal design with changes if approved to the Public Arts
Advisory Board for recommendation to the Wylie City Council.
REGULAR AGENDA
1. Consider and act upon, a recommendation to the Public Arts Advisory Board for the
selection of the artist to be considered for Wylie's Historic Downtown Art Project. (C.
Ehrlich, Secretary-Art Coordinator)
Panel Action
A motion was made by panel member Shank, seconded by panel member Newman to approve the design
by Shea Ameen with the following additions: using the green cornea with highlights, presented in the "I
See you Wylie"design of Shea's;making the iris black with the imprint of the state of Texas in the middle
with the heart in the location of Wylie. They also asked that around the cornea the words"Heart of Texas"
be imprinted in Serif or a similar font. A vote was taken and the motion passed 5-0 with panel member
Smith absent.
2. Consider and act upon, the approval of the minutes of January 14, 2021. (C. Ehrlich,
Secretary-Art Coordinator)
Panel Action
A motion was made by panel member Shank, seconded by panel member Newman to approve the
Selection Panel minutes from January 14,2021 as presented. A vote was taken and the motion passed 5-
0 with panel member Smith absent.
ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by panel member Shank,seconded by panel member Ingram to adjourn the meeting at
7:10 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion carried 5-0 with panel mem Smith absent.
