CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
The meeting was called to order by PAAB Secretary Ehrlich. The following members were present:
Captain Andrew Johnson,Margaret Illingworth,Shawn Denny,Roger Nitz,and Michael Schwerin.Absent
were Kylie Reising and Mindy Manson.
PAAB Coordinator Carole Ehrlich was also in attendance.
CITIZENS COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Residents may address the Board regarding an item that is not listed on the Agenda. Residents must fill out a non-
agenda form prior to the meeting in order to speak The Board requests that comments be limited to three(3)minutes.
In addition, the Board is not allowed to converse, deliberate, or take action on any matter presented during citizen
participation.
No citizens were present to address the board.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
All matters listed under the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine by the Board and will be enacted by one
motion. There will not be separate discussion of these items. If discussion is desired, that item will be removed
from the Consent Agenda and will be considered separately.
A. Discussion regarding the artist submissions and ranking by the panel for Fire

Presentations
PAC Ehrlich asked each panel member to introduce themselves and give a little background on
their interest in the arts. Captain Johnson stated that he was the panel member representing the
Fire Department Committee for Fire Station#4; Margaret Illingworth stated that she was a citizen
of Wylie with a bachelors in Art History; Roger Nitz stated that he lived in Wylie and was a mural
artist; Shawn Denny stated that he was a citizen of Wylie and a graphic designer;Michael Schwerin
stated that he was representing the Public Art Board.
PAC Ehrlich reported that out of the seventy two artists submitting for this project through Café,
the panel independently ranked twenty four artists above 4.5 with a range from 1 to 7. Ehrlich
presented the twenty four artists with their letters of intent, resume and previous works.
Once the presentation was completed the panel discussed each artist until they had three artists
they wished to take action on.
REGULAR AGENDA
1. Consider and act upon a recommendation to the Public Arts Advisory Board for the
selection of the semi-final artists to be considered for Fire Station#4 Art Project. (C.
Ehrlich,Public Art Coordinator)
Panel Discussion
The panel discussed at length the top twenty four artists for their creativity, materials used and
other aspects of their submissions, including their vision for "NEVER FORGET" which is the
theme for the fire station project. They decided upon three semi-final artist and one alternate in
the event one of the semi-finalists could not participate. The three artists will come back to Wylie
for a Community Input Meeting on June 3, 2021 and their final presentations on July 15a'. The
final artist will be chosen at that time.
Panel Action
A motion was made by panel member Michael Schwerin, seconded by panel member Andrew Johnson to
approve James Dinh,Matthew Duffy,and Terrance Martin as the three semi-final artists for the Fire Station
#4 Public Art Project.Additionally Jeanine Centuori was approved as an alternate should one of the three
be unable to participate. A vote was taken and the motion carried 5-0 with panel members Kylie Reising
and Mindy Manson absent.

ADJOURNMENT
Panel Action
A motion was made by panel member Michael Schwerin, seconded by panel member Andrew Johnson to
adjourn the meeting at 8:13 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion carried 5-0 with panel members Kylie
Reising and Mindy Manson absent.
