Ordinance 1987-28 765\ 925 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYUE. TEXAS ORDINANCE NO. 8'7-;)8 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE #81- 5, THE COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYUE, TEXAS, AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, BY ADDING TO THE SPECIFIC USE CLASSIFICATION A NEW AND HERETOFORE UNLISTED USE, TO WIT: PAWN SHOPS; PROVIDING A REPEAUNG CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS. the City Zoning Commission and the Governing Body of the City of Wylie, Texas, in compliance with the laws of the State of Texas with reference to amendments to the zoning ordinance and zoning map, have given requisite notices by publication and otherwise, and after holding due hearings and affording a full and fair hearing to all property owners generally, the said Governing Body is of the opinion that the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the City of Wylie should be amended in the exercise of its legislative discretion: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance #81-5, the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the City of Wylie, Texas, be, and the same is hereby amended, by adding to Section 18, subheading 18.1, under the listing for specific uses a new listing to read as follows: "9. Pawn Sbops" SECTION 2. That Ordinance #81-5, the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the City of Wylie, Texas, be, and the same is hereby amended, by addiqg to Section 19, subheading item 8, a new listing to read as follows: "G. Pawn Sbops" SECTION 3. That all ordinances of the City in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed and all other ordinances of the City not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. 265\ 926 SECTION 4. Should any paragraph, sentence, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this ordinance be adjudged or held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof other than the part so decided to be invalid, illegal or unconstitutional and shall not affect the validity of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance as a whole. SECTION 5. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions or terms of this ordinance shall be subject to the same penalty as provided for in the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the City, as heretofore amended, and upon conviction shall be punished by fine not to exceed the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) for each offense, and each day such violation shall continue to exist shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage and publication of its caption, as the law in such cases provides. Julie Haisler, County Ex- tension Agent-Home Economics with the Texas Agricultural Extension Ser- vice, The Texas A&M Univer- sity System, outlines some of the specific objectives of the program; - Understand fish, wildlife and marine science resources and develop skills in plann- ing, managing and keeping records of fish, wildlife and marine science enhancement production, maintenance and use. - Develop an appreciation of the need to manage wildlife and fisheries habitats and populations to insure future perpetuation and use. - Demonstrate sound fish wildlife and marine scienc~ conservation, enhancement and enjoyment practices at home and in the community. - Develop a commitment to practice and support wise stewardship of natural resources for present and future generations. In addition, the program of- fers training in leadership and citizenship plus informa- tion on career and leisure op- portunities, says Haisler. Youth who excel in wildlife and fisheries can qualify for scholarships and trips to Na- tional 4-H Congress that are provided by the American Motors Corp. and the Na- tional Wildlife Federation.
