AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE
PROVISIONS OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1988 EDITION,
REGULATING THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PLUMBING
PIPES AND FIXTURES IN ALL BUILDINGS WITHIN THE CITY OF
WYLIE; REPEALING ORDINANCE 83-13 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND
COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFORE; CONTAINING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE;
PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF:
WHEREAS,
The Uniform Plumbing Code, 1988 Edition, with
appropriate appendices, is designed to
provide a good plumbing system with minimum
regulations, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That ordinance 83-13 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2.
That certain documents, one (1) copy of which
is on file in the office of the City
Secretary and being marked and designated as
Uniform Plumbing COde, 1988 Edition, together
without appendices A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H,
and I are hereby referred to, adopted and
made a part of this ordinance hereof as if
fully set out within this ordinance.
SECTION 3.
That the following additions, deletions, and
amendments to the 1988 Edition of the Uniform
Plumbing code be and are hereby approved:
In section 20.21 add a new paragraph (d) to
read as follows:
(d)b!~~n~~ Required.
No person shall engage in the
business of installing,
maintaining, altering or repairing
of water, gas, or storm water sewer
lines used for the conduction of
water, gas or storm water
unless such person is the holder of
a valid license issued under the
provisions of Article 6243-101,
Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as
amended, (known as liThe Plumbing
License Law of 194711) or unless
such person is specifically
exempted from the provisions of
said Article 6243-101.
SECTION 4.
REPEALING CLAUSE - That all ordinances of the
City in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance be, and the same are hereby,
repealed and all other ordinances of the City
not in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance shall remain in full force and
effect.

SEVERABILITY CLAUSE - Should any paragraph,
sentence, subdivision, clause, phrase or
section of this ordinance be adjudged or held
to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid,
the same shall not affect the validity of
this ordinance as a whole or any part or
provision thereof other than the part so
decided to be invalid, illegal or
unconstitutional and shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this
ordinance.
PENALTY - Any person firm or corporation
violating any of the provisions or terms of
this ordinance shall be subject to a fine not
to exceed the sum of Two Thousand Dollars
($2000.00) for each offense, and each day
such violation shall continue to exist shall
constitute a separate offense.
PUBLICATION CLAUSE - This ordinance shall
take effect immediately from and after its
passage and publication of its caption, as
the law in such cases provide.
