Ordinance 1988-31 ORDINANCE NO. ___~~:_~~___ BEING AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WYLIE A HOME RULE POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AMENDING ORDINANCE 85-7 CHAPTER 1 SECTION 1.2 TO ADOPT THE 1987 EDITION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODES PROVIDING FOR A REPEALING CLAUSE, PROVIDING SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE; AND DECLARING AN AN EFFECTIVE DATE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WYLIE, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS THAT SECTION 1. SECTION 1.2 SECTION 2. SECTION 3. SECTION 4. SECTION 5. Ordinance 85-7 section 1.2 is hereby amended by the substitution of the words 1~~Z_ggiii9n for the words SY~~~D~_~gi~igD so that the amended section reads as follows: The National Electric Code, 1987 Edition (1) one copy of which is filed in the City Secretaries office for reference is hereby adopted as part of this code to the same effect as if it were copied verbatim herein and shall be in effect except as it may be in conflict with provisions of this ordinance. All remaining sections articles or portions of ordinance 85-7 shall remain in full force and effect. REPEALING CLAUSE - That all ordinances of the City in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed and all other ordinances of the City not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. SEVERABILITY CLAUSE - Should any paragraph, sentence, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this ordinance be adjudged or held to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this ordinance as a whole or any part or provision thereof as a whole or any part or provision thereof other than the part so decided to be invalid, illegal or unconstitutional and shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. PENALTY - Any person firm or corporation violating any of the provisions or terms of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine not to exceed the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense, and each day such violation shall continue to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
