05-08-1962 (City Council) Minutes MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL MAY 8, 1962
The City Council met at 7:•OOPM, May 8, 1962, with all members present,
Mayor Hall, Jack Parker, Pat Onstot, Jack Bostic and Carl Ward. The
Mayor called the meeting to order and the minutes from the last meeting
were read and approved, also the minutes from the Special Meeting were
read and approved.
Bids on the two old trucks were read. R. K. McDonald bid $50.00 each.
Hi-Way wrecking Yard bid $105.00 for the two and Ted Davidson bid $110.00
for the two. Motion was made by Carl Ward and seconded by J. R. Story
to sell them to Ted Dividson. The motion carried.
The Council discussed the appointments on the Equalization Board. Several
people were considered and the Mayor is to contact them.
Ordinance #62-8, Section E, 3, page 10, of the Sub. Div. Ordinance was
to be changed to read: All joints shall be made with resilient materials
conforming with the latest requirments of ASTM Designation C 425. This
motion was made by Carl Ward and seconded by Pat Onstot. Motion carried.
Jack Parker made motion that Ordinance #62-8, and Ordinance regulating
subdivisions, and Ordinance #62-9 A Pro-Rata Ordinance regulating the
extension of utilities, be adop eded it was seconded by J. R. Story.
Motion carried unanimously.
B uilding permit forms were presented and approved. The City Atty.
John Gay was asked to draw and ordinance establishing fees and etc.
_ Motion was made by Carl Ward and seconded by Pat Onstot to amend A.
General Page 4, Paragraph 1, to read as follows: The City shall in-
stall and maintain all house laterals from the City sewer mains to the
nearest property or easement line and all water service connections
from the City water main to the nearest property line or easement line,
provided the City will not be responsible for the flow in the #ouse sewer
laterals . The City shall charge for the installation and maintenance of such
sewer house laterals and water services a sum sufficient to cover the
average cost thereof, which shall be charged at and on the following rates
or basis.
Motion made by Jack Parker and seconded by J. it. Story to pass Ordinance
#62-10, providing for the impending of motor vehicles, bicycles, motor-
cyc es, and other wheeled vehicles, left on public streets or alleys
and other places: providing a penality of not more than $200.00.
Motion carried.
Electrical Ordinance #62-6 covering licensed fees for electricians.
Motion made by Jack ra`rTer and seconded by J. +'. Story. Motion carried.
Carl Ward and Pat Onstot voted against this Ordinance and Jack Parker,
Jack Bostic and J. R. Story voted for it.
Bills were read and approved, and motion was made by Jack Bostic and
seconded by J. R. Story to pay all hills . Motion carried.
The Council asked that copies of the report be furnished the press and
quarterly reports would be made to the Council with a summary of all
—municipal activities for each quarter. These will also be furnished
to the press and to any interested Citizen.
With no furthe business the meeting adjourned.
