The City Council met June 14, 1062 at 7:00 P.M. with all members present.
The meeting was called to order my Mayor Hall. The minutes of the last
regular meeting and also the two special meetings were read and approved.
All documents were signed for Mr. Hugh Robertson, water and sewerage
contractor. The Mayor read a letter to the State Board of Insurance
and also the answer of their recommendations for the improvement of the
water system.
Ordinance #62-11 establishing building permit fees for the City of Wylie
was passed daa mmotion made by Jack Bostic and seconded by Jack Parker.
Ordinance #62-12 was passed on a motion by Jack Parker and seconded by Pat
Onstot to appoint an equalization board and setting a time for their
meeting. The following persons were appointed: Mrs. John L. Bostic, Art
Goldsberry and Mrs. C. B. Martin. The Council was informed that we had
approximately 43,000.00 in delinquent taxes due the city for the years
1960 and 1961. Council ask that all delinquent taxpayers be notified of
the maximum penalty and interest which becomes effective as of July 1st.
Item 8, on salary raises was passed on a motion by Carl Ward and seconded .
by Pat Onstot. Motion carried.
City Manager reported on the following items : Fire Alarm System, The
manager checked with the Telephone Co. and reports the equipment has
not yet been received. Item 2. Water purchased by the City, Stop and
Yield signs , report from the Police Department, Street repairs, Report
on Managers Spring Conference. The Council was in favor of mailing a
monthly news letter to water customers along with their monthly bills.
As of this date all future full time employees will be given a one week
paid vacation, after one year' s service and after two years service will
be entitled to two weeks raid vacation. All present employees will be
given a two weeks paid vacation this year. Motion made by J. R. Storey
and seconded by Jack Bostic. Motion carried.
The bills were rea. and approved. Motion was made by Jack Bostic and
seconded by Carl W- rd to pay all bills. Motion carried.
