08-14-1962 (City Council) Minutes MINUTES AUGUST 14, 1962 Council met__August 14, 1962 at 7 :00 P. M. with all members present ex- cept Jack Bostic. Minutes were read of the last regular meeting and approved. The minutes of the special meeting July 24, 1962 were approved with the exceptions of Agnes Eaves meeting with Council in reference to the construction of an Apt . Building. Her plans had been submitted to the Planning Commis- sion. A letter from the planning commission was read in refernce to the pro- posed change in the present zoning regulations . The Council voted to ammend Section 9 Part A of the zoning ordinance. The minimum of 600 sq. ft . be reduced to 450 sq® ft . provided no other changes are made. Since the Council ammended the sq. ft. in the regulations, Mrs. Eaves is to present her revised plan to the City Manager for approval. City Atty. - will be instructed to draw up an ammendment to that effect. . The 2nd reading of the 2nd installment of the Wylwood Estates was passed on a motion made by Jack Parker and seconded by Carl Ward. The motion carried. Ordinance # 62-13 prohibiting debris or other foreign matter from being left on the street for more than 2 days was passed on a motion made by J. R. Storey and seconded by Pat Onstot. The proposed Plumbing Ordinance was discussed and since all Council Members were not in agreement on its adoption, the City Manager recom- IImended .that it be tabled until' such time the entire Council was in agreement . Fire Chief, M. F. Allen and several of the firemen met with Council to discuss a new fire truck and ask that the City help buy one. It was decided to look into the Army Surplus Trucks that Mayor Hall has writ- ten a letter about . It was the general opinion of the Council that if a suitable truck cannot be obtained from this source then funds for a new truck will be included in a proposed Bond Issue . Motion was made by Jack Parker and seconded by J. R. Storey to purchase a new Chevrolet Pick-pup from Cox's Chevrolet Co . in McKinney, Texas at a cost of $1549.00 for the Water and Sewage Department. The motion carried. Four sealed bids were received and are on file in this office. All bills were read and approved. J. R. Storey made a motion to pay all bills and it was seconded by Carl Ward. The motion carried. The 1962-1963 budget was presented to the Council for their approval. September llth was the date set by the Council for a public hearing on . the proposed 1962-1963 budget. August 21, 7 :30 P. M. was the date set for the public zoning hearing. With no furthe business motion was made by J. R. Storey and seconded . by Carl Ward t , adjourn.
