COUNCIL MEETING
FEBRUARY 12, 1963
The City Council met in regular session on Feb. 12, 1963 with all
members present, J. R. Storey, Jack Bostic, Jack Parker, Carl ward
and Pat Onstot.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall. The minutes of the last
meeting and also the minutes of the special meeting of January 31,
1963 were read and approved.
In reference to Apt. and trailer charges, each separate unit with bath
and separate kitchen be charged a minimum charge each and all excess
water be charged to the owner. Motion was made by Carl Ward and
seconded by J. R. Storey. Motion carried.
On a motion made by J. R. Storey and seconded by Carl Ward that no
interest be paid on City water deposits . Motion carried.
Council ask that Chief Gaylor warn the public not to park in alley
between Jackson and Ballard North of Brown Street.
The Council stated they would look into the garbage pick-up in alleys.
Motion was made by Jack Parker and seconded by Pat Onstot to order an
Election to elect three aldermen to serve a two year term, on April
2, 1963 with T . S. Beene as presiding Judge. Motion carried.
General Telephone Co. met with Council in reference to a rate in-
!- crease . The Council after much discussion ask that the General
• Telephone Co. meet again with the Council on "'arch 12, 1963, at the
next regular meeting of the Council . the Council wanted the City
Atty. John Gay to study the matter further.
Motion was made by J. R.Storey and seconded by Carl Ward to install
a remote control in the City Office and purchase a radio and narrow
band and change frequency on existing units ofr approzimately $400.00.
Motion carried.
The Council ask that all water users with bills due before Jan 1, 1963
be turned off on Feb. 15, 1963. Turn them back on at their convenience
with all bills paid up to date including $1.00 cut-off charge . Motion
was made by J. R. Storey and seconded by Jack Parker. Motion carried.
The monthly bills were read and approved for payment on a motion made
by Jack Bostic and seconded by Pat Onstot. Motion carried.
Ordinance #63-1 was discussed and tabled until next regular meeting.
1st reading of Ordinance #63-2, regulating Peddler' s and Vendor' s
transaRtions was passed on a motion made by Jack Bostic and seconded
by J. R. Storey. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 10: 30 on a motion made by Jack Bostic and se-
conded by P Onstot. Motion carried.
