REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
AUGUST 13, 1963
The City Council met in regular session August 13, 1963 with all mem-
bers present; Pat Onstot,Carl Ward, Jack Parker, C. T. Shields and
Taylor Hickman.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall. The minutes of the last
regular meeting and also the minutes of the special meeting of August
5th were read and approved.
Mr. with Erik Ehrenborg Appraisal Company, met with the Council to dis-
cuss and explain the City Valuation of City Taxes.
Mr. J. R. Story, W. W. Barker, Ed Collins and W. W. Housewright met with
the Council in reference to 4th Street improvement, asking for engineer
inspection by Henningson, Durham and Richardson. The Council assured
the citizens their full cooperation and they would have their engineers
inspect the Street.
Jack Parker made motion to pick out 2 or 3 persons for City Manager
and send letters asking applicants for interviews. Motion carried.
Mr. Jack Morrison of Irving met with the Council in reference to City
Manager place. The City Council said they would like to hire a City
Manager by September 1st.
Bills were read and approved on a motion to be paid by Carl Ward and
second by Jack Parker, with the exceptions of the RCA bill. They ask
that a letter be written that the Council understood that our contract
had expired with them as of July 1st.
On a motion made by Jack Parker and second by Carl Ward the Council
would buy the 2" solenoid valve for the city water meter, at a cost of
$265.00. Motion carried.
Item 4, Water Meter Contract; the council on a motion made by Carl Ward
and seconded by Taylor Hickman to give the contract to Calmet Meter
Company at a cost of $29.61 per 102 meters per year. Motion carried.
The Council approved buying the 1955 chevrolet truck from R. V. Groves
for the garbage department for $843.89 on a motion made by C. T. Shields
and second by Pat Onstot. Motion carried.
Motion was made to adjourn at 9 45 by Jack Parker and second by Pat
Onstot.
