10-08-1963 (City Council) Minutes MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING October 8, 1963 The City Council met in regular session October 8, 1963, with all mem- bers present, Pat Onstot, Carl Ward, Jack Parker, Taylor Hickman and C. T. Shields. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall. Minutes of the last regular meeting of September 10, 1963 were read and approved. J. R. Story met with the Council with a request from Johnston MFG. Co. in reference to City Taxes. They ask that the Council allow them to raise their Taxes over a period of two years. Motion was made by Taylor Hickman and second by Carl Ward to change the Inventory to $10,000.00 and leave the property at $73,255.00. Motion carried. A letter was read by Mayor Hall from Ray Barnes in reference to the Police car accident. Motion was made by Jack Parker and second by C. T. Shields to refer the letter to our Atty. John Gay. The three bids on the sale of the 1963 Patrol car were: Danis Auto of Cleburn $850.00, Dave Pruitt of Dallas $850.00 and B. B. Nelson $825.00 with the 60 amp alternator left on the car. A motion was made by C. T. Shields and second by Jack Parker to award the bid on the vehicle to Dave Pruitt for $850.00 less the 60 amp alternator. Motion carried. A bid from H. T. Corder to paint end repair the Fire and Police station for $689.00 was presented to the council . The council ask that they wait until their Audit and Budget was completed. They also ask the the Council change the radio maintance. On a motion made by C. T. Shields and second by Taylor Hickman that Mr. Whitt contact Frank Moorman with the Texas Two Way Radio and check contract agreement to the advantage of the City of Wylie, and give him 30 day notice as required by his contract. Mr. Whitt told the Council he could buy a 1957 Ford car for the sum of .$400.00. Motion was Trade by Taylor Hickman and second by Pat Onstot to buy the car if it meets with earl Wards approval after driving the car. Motion carried. Bills were read and approved to be paid with the exception of the bill from The Texas Two Way Radio until he completes his work that we have been billed for, on a motion made by Carl Ward and second by C. T. Shields . Motion Carried. Meeting adjourned. Mayor Secretary
