MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
NOVEMBER 12, 1963
The City Council met in regular session November 12, 1963, with all
members present: Pat Onstot, Carl Ward, Jack Parker, C. T. Shields
and Taylor Hickman. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hall.
The minutes of the last regular meeting of October 8th, 1963 were
read and approved.
Bills were read and approved on a motion made by Pat Onstot and second
by Carl Ward. Motion carried.
Fire Department met with Council to discuss a new Fire Truck. The
Mayor told the Department that we would have to hear from Mr. Medinach
our Bondsman to tell us how many bonds the City could sell at this
time. Motion was made by Jack Parker and second by Carl Ward to ask
Mr. Whitt to meet with the Fire Chief, V. G. Garner in reference to
building a small room for the department for entrance and fire phone
and also go over the 1963 and 1964 Budget.
Taylor Hickman made a motion and second by C. T. Shields that we give
notice to W. R. Bozman, that as of the first of this fiscal year,
October 1st. that Mr. Whitt would keep the books for the Gity. Motion
carried.
Motion was made by Pat Onstot and second by Jack Parker to hire W. C.
ien as an extra police for a limited number of hours per week until
other arrangements could be made. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Carl Ward and second by Pat Onstot to put a two
hour no parking sign between the alley and Ballard St. on West Marble.
Motion carried.
Motion was made by C. T. Shields and second by Pat Onstot to give
early consideration to a grade seeler coat to South Birmingham St.
from Citizens to Kirby St. and give City Administrator authority to
contact Mr. P. R. Hartley and others for price and approximate date
street could be shot. In turn contact City Council and cause no
further delay. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Pat Onstot and second by Jack Parker to buy a used
garbage truck from Davis Truck Co. of Dallas, at a cost of $1,250.00
and try the once a week pick-up for one month. Motion carried.
