The City Council met in regular session Jan. 11, 1965 at 7 :=00 PM. Present
IIMayor Hampton. Councilmen: Onstot, Shields, Ward, St. John with Councilman
Hickman absent. City Atty. John Gay, City Adm. Jack Whitt, and City Secy.
Oneida Gallagher.
The meet- tz was called to order by Mayor Hampton. The minutes of the last
regular'l`of ecember 8, 1965 were read and approved on a motion by Council-
man Ward and seconded by Councilman St. John. Motion carried.
' A letter from firs . Sisson in reference to a Beauty Shop in her h-me on
Stone Street in a A 1 Residential District. Motion by Councilman Shields
and seconded by Councilman Ward to deni t':e request. Motion carried.
Mr. Newell Representative of TP&L met with Council in reference to rate
reduction for residential and small commercial users . '!ir. Newell ask the
Official Signature of the City Secy. and affix the Corporation heal of
this Office to Officially approve this reduction. Motion by Councilman
St. John and seconded by Councilman Ward. Unanimous Ayes .
Bill Painter, Jack Parl}cr & Curtis Ratcliff met with Council in reference
to Street in front of School . This was explained by City Acim. Jack Whitt .
They ask Er. Whitt to give the figures for cost in writing.
A. J. McClure met with Council in ref. to Hospitalization Group Insurance
for Municipal Employees . The Council said they would like to check further.
A. letter from Dr. Trimble in ref . to speeding cars on hWY. 50, requesting
extension of City Limits that we could Police the road. The Council ask that
a Resolution be drawn and one copy sent to Dept. of Public Safety and one to
Commissioners Court on a inaction by Councilman Onstot and seconded by Council-
man Ward. Motion carried.
IIPetition from Dr. Trimble asking that a one(1 ) acre tract in Abstract 23
adjacent to the Eldridge Addn. be brought in to the City Limits . After a
short discussion City Adm. directed to contact Dr. Trimble in ref. to the
entire tract of 4.62 acres rather than one acre as petitioned pointing out
this is not a mandatory but reasonable thing due to expense involved and
further cons idefa.tion for the additional acreage . On receipt of answer
the Council will consider further and take necessary action.
In addition an oral petition from Nathan Eldridge in ref. to adjoining acres
to this tract obtained and considered for addition to City Limits .
Bills were read and approved to be -paid on a motion by Councilman "ard
and seconded by Councilman Shields . Motion carried.
Council ask that a general report on interesting facts in the. City be
published in the Wylie Paper each week.
City Adm told the Council that only one bid had been received on Fire Truck
and it was not complete.
Er . Cline made a bid of $1945.00 to paint the water tower. The inside work
was on a 16 year guarantee and all that work would be done with no cost to
City. The Council ask that we get more bids on painting Water Tower.
Motion by Councilman St . John and seconded by Councilman Onstot to buy
Signal Light and draw up an Ordinance for Oak and Jackson Streets .
Motion carried.
Council adjourned at 10:30 OQClock on a motion by Councilman lard and
