02-09-1965 (City Council) Minutes CITY COUNCIL MEETING
February 9, 1965
The City Council met in regular session February 9, 1965 at 7 :00 PM.
IIPresent : Mayor Hampton, Councilmen: Onstot, Shields, Ward, Hickman and
St. John, Atty. John Gay, City Adm. Jack Whitt & City Secy. Oneida Gallagher.
The meeting was called to order by Sayer j1ampton. The minutes of the last
regular meeting of January 11, 1965 and also. t: .e minutes of the special meetir
of February 2, 1965 were road and approved on a motion by Councilman Ward
and seconded by Councilman St. John. Motion Carried.
Walter Turner mot with Council in reference to Plbg. Ordiance for City. The
Council ask that Atty John Gay review and study this Ordinance with City
Adm. Jack ilhitt.
Bills were read and approved to be paid on a motion by Councilman Shields
and seconded by Councilman Nerd. Motion. carried.
A request was rood from T . E. Trimble to bring in a one (1.) acre tract
in Abstract 23 adjacent to the Eldridge Addn. into the City Limits . On
question motion by Councilman St. John and seconded by Councilman Ward.
Unanimous Ayes .
On a motion by Councilman Shields and seconded by Councilman Ward, Order
Establishing Procedure for City Officers Election and Official Notice of
City Officers Election on April 6, 1965 were ordered connleted by City
Atty. John Gay. On the question unanimous Ayes . Atty Gay completed
same and Mayor Hampton so affixed his signature . The Mayor appoin_ted
A. D. Boyd as election Judge with T. S . Boone as Alternate Presiding Judge.
Oneida Gallagher City Secy. Clerk for absentee voting to be held at the City
Hall . Motion_ by Councilman s _iolds and seconded by ouncilman Onstot asking
City Adm. Jack Whitt to destroy 196ZL Eloction Returns . l'lotion carried.
Two Bids received on painting City Water Tower.
Water Tank Service Inc. >19L 5.00
Southwest Tank Service 795.00 plus 5% for Color.
Motion by Councilman `-tiard and seconded by Councilman St . John to take the
bid of Southwest Tank ,Service with the. Words "Vfylie" written on Tank.
Motion carried. Color to be selected by the Council .

There wore six from the City Officials that ask for reservations for the
meeting of Region 13 of the Teas ':unici gal League to be held February
18, 1965 . Mayor 1 ar.Tton, Councilrmen: Onstot, St. John, Shields, ':;lard
and City Aar, . Jack Whitt.
Motion to adjourn at 9:30 by Councilman Onstot and seconded by Council-
man St . John. Motion carried.
